Advanced Dental Technology at Corner Canyon Family Dental

Corner Canyon Family Dental is proud to offer the latest technology at our practice. We want our patients to always have the best service and using the latest techniques and technology helps to make an experience in our office exceptional. Our doctors participate in continuing education to keep Corner Canyon Family Dental updated with state-of-the-art dental equipment to make procedures easier and pain-free. We care about our patients and our personalized and gentle care makes our patients feel comfortable and at ease when they visit our office.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are taken using a sensor that is placed in your mouth. These x-rays are safe and provide accurate and precise images of your teeth. Our digital x-rays work with computer-aided technology to upload your digital images instantly for our doctors to review. Digital x-rays can help pinpoint problems, and allow our team to get in front of issues quickly to avoid complications. Records can be transferred easily, and the process is easy and quick while you relax in the exam chair.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays provide images that include a picture of both the teeth and face. This type of x-ray takes an image that wraps around your head and can provide a view that can not be seen by the naked eye. Panoramic x-rays can help detect decay, expose impacted teeth, and identify gum disease, fractures, or bone loss. These high-quality images allow our doctors to get in front of issues quickly and provide immediate treatment if needed. During your panoramic x-ray, we will place a sensor in your mouth and our machine will rotate around your head to take a clear picture of your mouth and teeth. The process is easy, painless, and these images are only taken when absolutely needed.

Intraoral Cameras

Corner Canyon Family Dental offers intraoral camera technology to help better treat our patients. The intraoral camera can provide images to help our doctors provide accurate diagnoses and create customized treatment plans. The intraoral camera looks similar to a wand that is placed in the mouth and moved around to capture images of your teeth and mouth.

The process is painless and easy and can be done while you relax in the exam chair. Intraoral cameras can help with early detection, provide precise images of the mouth, and allow our doctors to show patients the images to explain any treatment that is needed. Images are easily saved on our system to track differences and to review changes after treatment is complete.

Soft Tissue Diode Lasers

Our soft tissue diode laser uses a blue light that targets and treats various areas of the mouth with extreme accuracy. This laser is minimally invasive and can treat numerous issues such as gum disease, minimize bleeding after a tooth extraction, gum contouring, cold sore or ulcer treatment, and frenectomies.

The soft diode laser is gentle enough to treat the affected area without harming surrounding healthy gum tissue. Cold and canker sores can be cleared up quickly, and gummy smiles can be corrected with our gentle dental laser technology. If you or your child has restricted movement in the mouth, our dental laser can treat both tongue and lip ties to gently release the skin and restore proper function and movement.  Laser dentistry technology makes appointments easy and virtually pain-free with little to no recovery time.

Single Tooth Anesthesia (STA) System® Unit

Corner Canyon Family Dental understands a patient’s anxiety when being faced with a surgery that requires the administration of an anesthetic. We know that no patient likes the idea of having multiple painful injections in their mouth as well as the discomfort and numbness of the mouth after surgery. This is why our office uses the STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System® unit, which uses patented state-of-the-art computer-controlled injection technology to give the patient peace of mind during a procedure.

The system is known for assisting dentists in delivering a painless injection, which administers more anesthetic at less pressure and results in a longer duration of anesthesia. The unit is also able to monitor and give real-time feedback during the administration of the injection and therefore, be able to automate the injection at a controlled rate. The computer component of the unit also advises the dentist whether or not the needle has been placed correctly, which eliminates human error. A patient’s dental work may take less time thanks to the efficiency at which the anesthetic is administered.

As there is less trauma during the administration, post-surgery discomfort is also brought to a minimum. Thus, an injection with the STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System® unit may be the most comfortable injection you have ever had! Additionally, the part of the unit used for the injection does not look like a needle at all and could be compared to a pen rather than a syringe. Therefore, it is the perfect option for individuals who do have a fear of the dentist’s chair and enables them to get the dental care they need.

We care about our patient’s comfort and anxiety levels, and Corner Canyon Family Dental uses an STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System® unit whenever possible.
